When words alone don’t feel loud enough, we turn to music. That’s how Project Viridescence was born — using Mackenzie's favorite color, a collaboration between Camden Tenney Hicks' SYGNYTURE and a powerful mission to fight for Mackenzie Shirilla’s freedom.

What is Project Viridescence?

Viridescence is more than a Music Campaign. It’s a living, breathing advocacy project rooted in resilience, truth, and the belief that no one should be forgotten behind bars. Through raw, anthemic tracks that blend alternative, rock, R&B, and emotional storytelling, the project shines a light on Mackenzie’s story — a young woman many believe was wrongfully convicted and continues to fight for justice years after the 2022 incident that changed her life.

The name “Viridescence” is the latin word for the process of "becoming green" — the specific shade #469D33 'Kenzie Green' shoots that push through even after destruction. It represents hope, renewal, and the strength to keep standing tall when the system tries to keep you down.

How We’re Contributing to the Fight

Project Viridescence isn’t just music for the sake of art. It’s intentionally built as a platform for protest and awareness:

• Amplifying Mackenzie’s Voice — The EP includes elements and contributions directly tied to Mackenzie, giving her story a creative space that reaches beyond courtrooms and petitions.
• Raising Awareness — Each release, visual, and piece of merch (from the “Wrongfully Convicted” tees and shorts to the engraved bracelets) carries the message into everyday life. When people wear the art or stream the music, they become part of the conversation.
• Non-Profit Focus — 100% of proceeds from Viridescence go toward advocacy efforts, legal support awareness, and continuing the push for Mackenzie’s release and broader criminal justice reform.
• Building Community — By creating wearable statements and shareable music, we’re helping turn passive supporters into active voices. Every share, stream, and conversation chips away at the silence surrounding her case.

This isn’t about trends or clout. It’s about using the tools I have — songwriting, production, design, and branding — to make sure Mackenzie’s story stays visible. The justice system may move slowly, but culture and creativity don’t have to. Music has always been a powerful vehicle for protest, and Viridescence is SYGNYTURE’s way of standing in that tradition.

Mackenzie Shirilla’s situation represents far too many cases where the system fails to see the full truth. Project Viridescence exists because we refuse to accept that outcome.
